Slingshot lets you find your position anywhere inside a building that has been scanned by NavVis mobile mapping systems. Just point your phone's camera at your desired location and instantly get the exact position of your iPhone. A convenient connection to NavVis IndoorViewer then lets you interact with your digital factory environment to report defects, share knowledge and create custom points of interest.
NavVis has developed a brand-new positioning technology, which combines techniques from computer vision, machine learning, and probabilistic sensor fusion. This powerful combination enables reliable positioning and tracking inside buildings where GPS is not available. The app works by using the smartphone's camera and motion sensors to find and track the device's current location. What makes NavVis Visual Positioning unique is that it works without installing additional positioning infrastructure in the building.
Slingshot is a free app developed and published by NavVis GmbH based in Munich, Germany.
